Excerpt from BPC—Market Update 6/28/10 Narrative: It seems that some of the mills have started to implement what we have been advocating to them for quite a while; better balance between offset and Laser MOCR pricing. Pricing for offset has risen to a level very close to value added laser grades the mills would prefer to run. The run up in pulp pricing, among other increases to input costs, has forced most non integrated mills to announce early summer price increases. Also, it's uncertain if pulp pricing will remain high or come down as many are predicting. The annual machine down time taken in early May combined with the announced price increase have stretched the mills inventory levels and resulted in extended delivery dates. www.brownpaper.com |
